The Ramen House
About This Spot
Stepping into The Ramen House in the heart of Singapore’s downtown, you’re greeted by a warm, unpretentious vibe that invites you to slow down amidst the city’s buzz. It’s a space where the hum of quiet conversations and the gentle clatter of bowls and chopsticks blend seamlessly with the soft lighting and open-air breeze, making it a natural refuge for both late-night suppers and relaxed gatherings.
The restaurant strikes a balance between modern izakaya charm and casual neighborhood comfort. It’s the kind of place where familiarity finds its rhythm—whether you’re sharing a steaming bowl of ramen with close friends, savoring the subtle layers of a chawanmushi, or unwinding with a crisp beer after a busy day. The pace here is easy going, inviting you to linger at your own leisure without fuss or hurry.
What makes dining at The Ramen House a quietly special experience is the way each dish feels thoughtfully crafted without overwhelming the senses. The broths are rich and soul-warming, like a gentle nod to traditional Japanese flavors translated through a local lens, while occasional surprises—like the fragrant garlic fried rice or the lively spice in the mala ramen—reflect a subtle adventurous spirit. The menu offers enough variety to keep returning pals curious without straying far from those comforting essentials that turn meals here into moments of genuine connection.
Outside on the airy terrace, the mid-evening light softens, and the approachable aura shines through even more clearly. It’s a favorite spot for night owls and late diners seeking good food alongside friendly faces and easy smiles. The staff’s quiet attentiveness adds to the feeling that you’ve stumbled across something sincere—an honest invite to share a meal and a conversation, whether it’s a familiar routine or a newfound discovery.
In a city that’s always moving fast, The Ramen House settles into its own pace, offering a space where the textures and tastes of Japan meet the laid-back joie de vivre of Singapore’s dining scene. It’s a place to return to, not just for the food, but for the simple pleasure of feeling at home even when you’re far from it.

Ramen house is very convenient especially when you're looking for a place to eat late at night. Service is fast and staff are all friendly. We have been eating here since last year and the food doesn't change the taste at all. Sashimi is always served fresh. It's highly recommended place to dine in with friends and family.

I had the mushroom ramen and… I was surprised the ramen was as good as it was. To get the main critique out of the way they don’t use alkaline noodles, but the more Singapore normal mian white noodles, and I think this really brings down the dish. Very disappointing to the experience. That said, the soup was nice, albeit a bit salty. It’s a creamy chicken soup and has a nice texture/mouthfeel and taste. The mushrooms had okay flavor, not much seasoning to them which you may consider good or bad. They had some bamboo shoots in too but they were completely unseasoned. The chashu was very lightly seasoned and while that surprised me at first I ended up rather liking it. The egg was very well done in terms of keeping a great creamy center, but the marinate was a bit lacking. I wouldn’t come back here unless they did a better on the noodles, but I’m glad I walked by and tried it.

We ordered the char siu ramen and pork belly ramen. Very delicious broth (I believe it was a chicken soup). Very good soul. Service was quick if a little abrupt. The ramen though was like spaghetti. I’m not sure why. It had that wheaty spaghetti taste and texture and I’m confused. I’ve had a few bowls of ramen in my life and this is a first for me. Anyway really good broth.

I wanted to have a light meal and it was 10.30pm so my friends brought me here.. The food is delicious and ambience is nice. We sat outdoors, it was airy and the feel was good. This will be my go to place in the future for late dinner and supper.

First time checking this place out via recommendation from a friend. The staff were attentive and helpful, the food was served fast and honestly quite value for money. I enjoyed the taste and proportions. I think I quite liked their mushroom ramen and find the recipe interesting as it's packed with a lot of ingredients, next to the scallop dish. Overall a very chill place with their rather quiet ambience
